429 – Angles, Saxons, and Jutes expelled the Picts and Scots from southern England.
457 – the Britons abandoned Kent to the Jutes.
597 – Pope Gregory the Great (590 – 604) dispatched St Augustine to Kent to convert the Britons to Christianity. This
