Planet Earth was formed and life upon it began

Billions of years ago, after a great turbulence in the universe, Planet Earth was formed.

Prehistory (600 million years ago – 9000 BC) is divided into three main Eras:
Palaeozoic Era – 600 million years ago – 250 million years ago
Mesozoic Era – 250 million years ago – 65 million years ago
Cenozoic Era – 65 million years ago – 9000 BC

600 million years ago, Planet Earth was a solid land mass (all joined together) called Pangaea.

Tiny vertebrates and Trilobites (water mammals and marine life) emerged and by 500 million years ago, had all died out.

500 million years ago, many species of fish and amphibians emerged and by 250 million years ago had all died out. Fossils of flora and fauna date back here also. The climate determined which species of plant and animal life survived.

250 million years ago, during the Mesozoic Era, fish, amphibians, and tiny water and marine life, that emerged during the Palaeozoic Era, became extinct. Mammals first appeared at the beginning of the Mesozoic Era.

During the first phase of the Mesozoic Era ( the Triasic era (250 million years ago – 215 million years ago) – the Continents began to drift around. South America separated from Africa. India separated from Africa and molded itself to Asia. Australia and the Antarctic slowly drifted apart from one another…….. read more in Volume One of Bertha Peoples’ ‘One Book’, our past, at last – available at Amazon.com.
